Yes, it is the truth and I have pictures to prove it. We did get snow here, lots of it, 6 inches to be exact. That is a significant amount of snow for this part of Georgia. In the 12 years we have lived in this part of the country this is the most snow I have seen.
Now, needless to say, the children are extremely excited for this snow event. Of course the local schools are closed, but since we homeschool we do not have to close for weather. Ok, Ok.. I was a nice mom and let the kids have a day off. Actually they have had 2 days off, so far. We really need to be getting back to their studies, with the holidays and snow days it feels as though we have done very little school in the past month or so. (I think the homeschooling needs its own post, I will work on that)
It has been a busy couple weeks. The husband, away on a business trip which was suppose to be for 7 days, turned into a 12 day trip. Last Wednesday we had wood laminate flooring put into our basement apartment, which is soon my moms apartment. Since this storm was coming I wanted to get her moved into her new home here. So with a Suburban, a Mazda pickup and lots of trips we managed to get all of her necessities here and somewhat organized. Ok, well we are still working on the organizing part.
Today, since we are snowed in, I was able to get our Christmas tree undecorated, taken down and put away!! I was soooo ready to get it out of the living room. The snow days have made me slow down and have a chance to get things done around the house. Yah!! I love that!! I even had time to sit with a hot cup of coffee near the window so I could see the snow and read a book.
So to everyone, enjoy your “Snow Days”!!
